This ELISA test is a qualitative serological
assay for the detection of Xanthomonas albilineans (Xalb), the causal agent of
leaf scald, in bacterial cultures and sugarcane tissue soaks. Xalb is a member
of the Xanthomonas genus known for their gram-negative, aerobic, short
rod-shaped, yellow bacteria.
